Our Story
1980
After working at various agricultural engineering businesses, Michael Brown, at the age of 25, started his own business.
Working out of a van from his family’s farm, he started repairing agricultural machinery for farmers across the North East of Scotland.
Quickly gaining a good reputation for a quality service at very competitive prices.
1983 - 2003
2003 - Present
The business moved into newly built premises directly behind the ‘old’ garage.
The new premises were largely built by Michael Brown himself and allowed the business to expand into various new product lines.
In 2003 Brucklay Garage took on the role as a main dealer for Mountfield lawnmowers. It was a move that would see a whole new customer base enter the store.
In 2012 the business won the award for ‘Vapormatic UK Stockist of the Year’ for its dedication and partnership with one of the UK’s main tractor spares supplier.
Currently the business continues to be a main dealer for a variety of companies including Vapormatic, Mountfield, Briggs & Stratton, Kramp and Total.
In 2021 the business took on one of its biggest dealership yet becoming a main stockist of Stiga garden machinery.
In 2022 the Ariens dealership was added, providing more choice of garden machinery. The business also renewed its commitment to the Al-Ko dealership by extending its range.
The business is still owned and run by Michael Brown along with a number of employees including family members.
